The property lies in the heart of downtown Vaughan, ON, Canada.  The address will be disclosed as we approach closing and consolidate relationships with local government and neighbours. 
WhO PURCHASED THE PROPERTY?
Risalah Foundation purchased the property June 2nd, 2017 and will designate the property as a Waqf (an endowment governed by the Foundation).
when is the closing?
The closing is in January 2018.
WHAT WAS THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PROPERTY?
The property was sold for $2.8 million CAD.
HOW LARGE IS THE PROPERTY?
The property has 3 large buildings with over 13,000 sq. ft. of built-up area. 
WhAT is risalah foundation?
Risalah Foundation is a non-profit community organization founded in 2008. The Foundation has been serving the Vaughan community for over a decade and is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of volunteers, teachers and professionals who are 2nd and 3rd generation Canadians of diverse ethnic heritage.  Risalah has  a unique perspective and capacity to design and deliver locally relevant, authentic and inspiring initiatives in the fields of Islamic education, youth leadership, counselling and mentorship. Risalah Foundation is also recognized by governmental agencies and NGO’s across Ontario for its exceptional contribution to current national efforts to counter violent extremism while also tending to the spiritual needs and upliftment of society’s underprivileged and marginalized through its chaplaincy work.
WHAT IS THE AQIDA OF RISALAH'S LEADERSHIP?
The co-founders of Risalah Foundation, Imam Ramzy Ajem and Imam Mohamed Mahmoud are trained scholars from Ahl al-Sunna wal-Jama'a.  Risalah's core team share tenets of faith that are based on the Quran and Sunna as documented by the four great schools of the Sunni Tradition: Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam al-Shafi`i and Imam Ahmad, may God have mercy on them all.
WHAT KIND OF MUSLIMS MAKE UP RISALAH FOUNDATION?
The congregants of Risalah Foundation are of various ethnicities and backgrounds. Risalah promotes an authentic and contextual message of Islam for Canadian Muslims based on the Quran and Sunna, and as elucidated in our classical institutions of higher learning within the Sunni Muslim world.
IS risalah inclusive of all people  irrespective of RELIGIOUS persuasion or ideology?
Risalah Foundation is governed by principles of inclusion, goodwill, tolerance, positive dialogue and civic engagement. Anyone who shares these values is welcome!
DOES RISALAH SUPPORT other MUSLIM projects in the community?
Yes. Risalah Foundation is committed to working together with all Muslim groups for the greater good of the entire community, as the Quran states: "Help one another to righteousness and piety; do not help one another in sin and enmity" (5:2).  We believe that through good will, dialogue and spiritual maturity, the many organizations of our one community can succeed together. WILL 100% OF DONATIONS GO TOWARDS THIS PROJECT?
Yes. Donations to the Masjid Vaughan Project will be designated EXCLUSIVELY to:
1. Capital Expenditure: All expenditure that is directly associated with the property, and directly adds value to it, such as; purchase price, refurbishment, equipment, vendors, consultants, etc. ​
2. Operations Expenditure (capped at 8% of the funds raised): All expenditure that is spent to facilitate the project (i.e. marketing, fundraising, financial transactions, administrative, and contingencies). ​​
​CAN I BECOME A FOUNDER BY PAYING THE $25K IN INSTALLMENTS?
Yes, you may become a Founder by contributing $25,000 in installments, though note that Founder spots are limited.
WILL THE FINANCIALS BE TRANSPARENT?
Yes, donors will be provided on-line updates as well as detailed financial reports.
How Can i learn more about the Organization, ITS board of directors and their qualifications?
Risalah Foundation is a not-for-profit Ontario Corporation governed by by-laws and internal policies that assure ethical and responsible governance by its elected board of directors.  Members, congregants or donors desiring to learn more about the board may contact: rfboard@risalah.ca.  As for the Masjid Vaughan Project,  a select advisory board is currently being assembled and will be announced soon, God willing.

 Receive Project Updates!

The Senior Scholars' Council functions as an advisory resource for the project's jurisprudential and spiritual well-being. The council first convened on the 16th of  June, 2017 at the physical property of the future site of Masjid Vaughan where they reviewed the existing church building and refurbishment plans with the architect and the Real Estate Development Committee. The council has been involved throughout the formative period of the project and have proven to be an indispensable resource for Risalah Foundation.
Shaykh Ramzy Ajem is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Risalah Foundation.  He is the visionary of Masjid Vaughan and serves as the Project Chairman.  His classical training in the Islamic Sciences started in the early 90's with the scholars of Damascus alongside his colleagues; Imam Zaid Shakir, Shaykh Walead Mosaad and other luminaries. He teaches regularly at Risalah Foundation and has been instrumental in countering violent extremism through his continued chaplaincy work.
Shaykh Mohamed Mahmoud is the Co-Founder of Risalah Foundation and the current Imam at Jamia Riyadh-ul-Jannah in Mississauga. After earning a degree in Philosophy and Comparative Religion, he began long-term traditional Islamic education specializing in Islamic Theology, Metaphysics and Spirituality, earning Ijazat in these and other areas. He lectures on Islamic Theology and Spirituality throughout Canada and overseas.
Dr. Walead Mosaad, serving as the Director of Muslim Student Life at Lehigh University, is a scholar of the Islamic tradition. He received his PhD from the University of Exeter in the UK in Arab and Islamic Studies, and was also classically trained at the Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. He is also a visiting professor at the Bayan Claremont College of Theology and has delivered various lectures throughout the Muslim world, Europe and the Far East.  Learn More ...
Imam Zaid Shakir is a Muslim American scholar and co-founder of Zaytuna College in Berkeley, California.  He is regularly included as one of the Western world’s most influential Muslim scholars in The Muslim 500, an annual ranking edited by John Esposito and Ibrahim Kalin. He is also one of the signatories of "A Common Word Between Us and You," an open letter by Islamic scholars to Christian leaders that calls for peace and mutual understanding. Learn more ...
